Dobry Den!
We are two friends who want to visit Vysoke Tatry for 3 days from 14 October (next week). We are dreaming of simply walking for 3 days from "Chata to Chata". We are not mountain climbers but can certainly walk for the whole day. Would you be able to suggest such trails?
Thanks in advance! Tommy
Even though there is no official warning at the Mountain rescue service, passages through "Priecne sedlo" and also "Prielom" are quite icy, and I recommend you do not go through if you do not have crampoons (climbing irons), or you are experienced hikers. Went through Prielom from Zbojnicka chata today, the first part was quite demanding, not recommended for hikers inexperienced with walking in icy conditions in high altitudes.
I've made 3 days trip in Tatras last year.
1st day:
I arrive to Tatranska Javorina by bus at 12 a clock. In next 5 hours I was in Chata pri Zelenom plese.
2nd day:
Stepping up to Svistovka and then via Skalnate pleso to Zamkovskeho chata.
It will take around 5 hours.
3rd day:
I left my bag in Zamkovskeho chata and I walked for a light trek up to Teryho chata. Drunk a beer and went back to Zamkovskeho chata (took my bag) and continue downhill to Smokovec for a good lunch.
Take care! It's a dusk at 6 pm these days!
The weather coul change hour to hour!
Tatry could be dangerous!
If i can little bit widen former advices, I would recommend you Chata Plesnivec... I consider it not so main-stream cottage,
accomodation and food is here reasonable (book in advance)... It is located in the valley between Belianske Tatry and Vysoke Tatry... Imho, it is worth seeing also Belianske Tatry (Day 1).
Plesnivec is accesible e.g. from Tatranska kotlina (the easier route).
Or it is accesible from Zdiar, through Kopske Sedlo.
Day 2 - From Plesnivec to CHata pri Zelenom plese.
If you wanna walk for the whole day, hike definitely Sedlo pod Velkou svišťovkou.
As the Day 3, from CHata pri Zelenom plese - Zamkovskeho chata-Teryho CHata - Priecne Sedlo - Hrebienok. This is challenging, you must help urself with kettles under the top (Priečne Sedlo, approx.2300 meters AMSL, but if your bags will not be as heavy as on the first day and there is good weather, you can make it .
I hope, you will enjoy your trip.
Day 1 :
Tatranska kotlina - Chata pri zelenom plese
Day 2 :
Chata pri Zelenom plese - Skalnate pleso - Teryho chata - Priecne sedlo - Zbojnicka chata
Day 3 :
Zbojnicka chata - sedlo Prielom - Vychodna Vysoka - Sliezsky dom - Hrebienok
Difficult trip, so please consider this point !
You can sleep overnight at (from East westward):
Zdiar - many options in the village, or even better Hotel at the start of the trail - Magura
magurahotel.sk/
Chata pri Zelenom plese
chataprizelenomplese.sk/
Zbojnicka chata
zbojnickachata.sk/
Last night best:
popradskepleso.com$ret
or perhaps more expensive "luxurious hut" right next
majlathovachata.sk/
or one of the many options at Strbske pleso
