Diskusná téma Hiking in High and Low Tatras for taking

I have a plan of hiking in High Tatras this summer. I guess many hiking trails in High Tatras. I like especially trails which we go through nice fields of Alpine flowers. I will stay in High Tatras for two weeks and try to take several hiking trails. Could you suggest several trails for Alpine flowers, by pointing the start and end place of the trail? I am a foreigner and have no knowledge of High Tatras. So I have simply a plan of staying a hotel at Vysoké Tatry (the name of a town?) . However, there might be better places (towns) than Vysoké Tatry for such hiking. Could you suggest places (town) where I should stay for hiking, considering I have no car? Then, I will look for the hotel at the suggested town.

In addition, I have a plan of taking hikings in Low Tatras for a few days. Are there any nice fields of Alpine flowers in Low Tatras? If so, tell me the best town for staying for hiking.

Also tell me the best time of Alpine flowers for High and Low Tatras.

I would say that Liptovský Mikuláš is the city with the best connectivity to any part of this mountain range. It also depends if you wish to return every day or you plan hikes with overnight stops on the ridge. Chata M. R. Štefánika, Kamenná chata (Chopok), útulňa Ďurková are the possible choices.

Check the maps and ask more if needed.

Thank you very much for information for my question on hiking trail for Alpine flower.
Appreciating deeply your suggestions, might I ask more information on Low Tatras?
At which town should I stay for taking the start point of hiking in Low Tatras.

In case you are insterested in alpine meadows with lots of flowers, High Tatras might not be the best place, because its a granit mountain range. Instead I would suggest hiking on the edge of High Tatras and Belianske Tatras. It located on east side of Tatras and it is a limestone range which means more diverse and rich meadows. End of june and begining of july are best as Pali wrote.

I suggest these routes:

Tatranska Javorina - Kopske sedlo - Chata Plesnivec - Tatranska Kotlina

or

Zdiar - Monkova dolina - Siroke sedlo - Kopske sedlo - Tatranska Javorina
hiking.sk/…/monkova_dolina_ko…

Look for accomodation in Tatranska Kotline or Zdiar. There are buses going from Poprad to Lysa Polana (thru Tatranska Kotlina, Zdiar and Tatranska Javorina). Look for buses at this site:

Hello, I am sure there will be more competent contributors to this topic than me related to the blossoming peak of flowers. However, as for High Tatras, paths are from certain points officially closed until June 14th each year. After July 1st school holidays and the main season begin so there may be more people at some points than convenient. Most mountain flowers can be found above the level of forest, at meadows below the level of mere rocks, of course. Second half of June may be OK I suppose. Velicka dolina (valley) has one part called Kvetnica - means in Slovak language something like Place of Flowers. The mountain hotel Sliezsky dom is situated nearby. Another good places could be Mlynicka dolina, Mengusovska dolina. There is some place like mountain flower arboretum in High Tatras, I will try to find some facts and add it here later. And I am sure the Low Tatras might be interesting and worth visiting for a mountain flower lover, too.
